Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
1-on-1 Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Focused on Your Individualized Goals
Post-partum? Pelvic Pain? Leaking with Running/Jumping?
Pelvic floor issues can be embarrassing in addition to having a negative impact on your life. Symptoms can include leaking, needing to make frequent trips to the bathroom, constipation, pressure and pain. While it may feel like you are suffering alone, these symptoms are more common than you might think and treatable with specialized physical therapy.
Getting the attention and care of a qualified pelvic floor specialist can address your concerns and work with you towards your goals of returning to activity and staying happy and healthy.
The “pelvic floor” is a group of muscles and tissue in your pelvis that assist with many parts of sexual, bowel and urinary function. At your first appointment you will work with your therapist to evaluate your current function and develop a plan of care to work towards your goals. Treatments can include but are not limited to hands-on manual therapy, progressive exercises and education well beyond the kegel.
*Note: while an internal assessment is helpful to determine your pelvic floor function, this is never necessary. Plan to discuss your preferences with your therapist during your evaluation.
