Lloyd Beckett, PT, DPT, SCS
OWNER/FOUNDER, PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Dr. Beckett returned to his home state in 2018 after having spent the majority of his career optimizing the health and performance of elite athletes across the country. He specializes in the assessment and rehabilitation of athletes and active individuals of all ages, and treats a variety of complex cases that have not yet responded to conservative treatments.
Before founding Dirigo Physical Therapy and Performance in 2018, he served as the Head Athletic Trainer and Lead Physical Therapist for the Brooklyn Nets NBA franchise. His experience also includes working with the Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers, New England Patriots, and the U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command.

Mallory Goodrich, PT, DPT
LEAD PORTLAND PT, PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Mallory has experience treating patients of all ages with a variety of orthopedic and post-surgical conditions. She enjoys blending her clinical practice around manual therapy skills and progressive strength training in order to get patients back to doing what they love to do. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of New England, has further training in running gait analysis, and is Dry-Needling Level 1 & 2 certified. Being an avid runner herself, she enjoys treating running related injuries and working with athletes to achieve their goals related to sports, fitness, and overall health & wellness.

Josh Segal, PT, DPT, CSCS
PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Josh earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of New England. He has a clinical interest in working with racquet sport and overhead athletes as well as the active general public. He is passionate about helping you meet and exceed all goals.

Shannon Pietras, PT, DPT, LSVT
PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Shannon graduated from Husson University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and a Bachelors in Kinesiology and Human Movement Science. She has experience in treating orthopedic and neurological conditions of all ages with a strong background in geriatrics and those with multiple comorbidities. She is LSVT Big certified for the treatment of those with Parkinson's Disease as well as certified in neurological dry needling for pain management & sports rehabilitation. Shannon has been a participant of CrossFit since 2019 and was a collegiate softball and field hockey player. She believes in the use of hands on treatment and exercise progression to restore mobility and maximize physical fitness.

Julia Symbol, PT, DPT
PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Born and raised in Westbrook, Maine. I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of New England and my Bachelor’s degree in Health Science at the University of Southern Maine. I have a passion for working with athletes of all ages and also a special interest in working with first responders. I believe in a preventative approach and helping individuals get back to doing what they love through evidence-based care and integrating manual therapy and strengthening.

Liz Goodrich, PT, DPT
PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Liz was born and raised in Falmouth Maine and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences from Northeastern University. She is also a 500 hr yoga teacher, Certified Functional Strength Coach and Champion Performance Specialist. She holds certifications in dry needling level 1&2, Blood Flow Restriction and Healing Yoga 1&2, and has pursued further continuing education in running and pain neuroscience.

Julie Pettit-Lane, PT, DPT
PELVIC FLOOR & PERFORMANCE PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Julie earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of New England and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Washington. Her past athletic and professional experiences including CrossFit have developed her professional interest in working with active individuals with pelvic floor and orthopedic concerns. One of her biggest passions is working with women to safely stay active throughout pregnancy and return to their daily activities and athletic endeavors post-partum.

Louise Mills-Strasser, MS, ACSM-CEP
STRENGTH COACH
Louise earned her Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University. She has been in the fitness field for over 10 years with experience in personal training and rehabilitation in a variety of settings including corporate wellness, fitness studios, and physical therapy clinics. Louise also has experience coaching a variety of high school, college and recreational athletes; she has a particular interest in maximizing the performance of endurance athletes, being as she is a marathoner herself. Her mission is to lead by example, helping individuals at any age develop healthier lifestyles and reach their own goals.

Charlie Graffius, MA, CSCS, CPT
STRENGTH COACH
Charlie holds a Bachelors in Exercise Science from Colby-Sawyer College where he played on the baseball and tennis teams. He returned to Maine after attending Columbia University in NYC for a Masters in Motor Learning and Motor Control where he worked in a neuroscience lab as a research assistant. He specializes in improving movement quality and strength for active individuals.

Sami Dowling, LMT, PTA, CTRS, MSRT
LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST
With over 15 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, Sami has a well-rounded understanding of the human body and its movement patterns.As a Licensed Massage Therapist, she integrates advanced techniques such as trigger point therapy and myofascial release to reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being. Sami’s philosophy centers on the idea that the feet are the body's foundation, playing a pivotal role in overall structural health. The alignment, strength, and functionality of the feet influence the kinetic chain, impacting the knees, hips, and lower back.
By addressing areas below the points of concern, Sami helps clients correct these underlying issues, by improving posture, balance, and overall movement efficiency. Sami is also a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), which allows her to bring a unique perspective to her practice. She recognizes the connection between mental health and physical wellness. This holistic understanding will enable her to comprehensively address each client’s needs, ensuring that her care is as effective as it is compassionate. Sami also prioritizes education throughout her sessions, empowering clients to develop better body awareness and take an active role in their journey toward lasting health and balance.

Ren Morrill, LMT
LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST
Ren Morrill is a licensed massage therapist born and raised in Portland, Maine. He began his training at the East-West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon, and has been practicing since 2003. Ren specializes in sports massage, deep tissue work, and injury treatment, offering focused, therapeutic care tailored to each client's needs.When he isn't stretching hamstrings and kneading knots, Ren enjoys hiking through Maine’s forests, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and digging up obscure musical gems from the 1980s.

Lauren Crosen McGuire
Lauren is a recent Maine transplant from Cape Cod and a passionate Pilates instructor who believes in the power of precise, mindful movement and strong body alignment. With a diverse background in fitness and hands-on experience in physical therapy, Lauren witnessed firsthand the incredible impact Pilates had on her patients’ recovery and overall strength. Inspired by those results, she completed her Mat and Reformer Pilates training through Balanced Body at Boston Body Pilates, and now brings that knowledge into every session—creating thoughtful, challenging, and supportive experiences for her clients.

Haruka is originally from Japan but has lived all over the world. On her days off, Haruka enjoys picking sea glass on the beach and spending time with her family. Haruka is always a friendly call away to help with all your needs when accessing Dirigo Services.

Patient Relations and Community Coordinator
Sunny is a Maine native and has spent the past 4 years living in Portland, developing a community here in Southern Maine. Sunny first found Dirigo as a patient, looking for a facility that specialized in performance to get her back on the bike as a spin instructor. Now she joins us using her Community and Connection passion to show southern Maine and beyond what Dirigo Physical Therapy and Performance is all about. In her free time, you’ll find Sunny teaching Spin, trying new food spots, and hanging out with her family around Portland.
